Korean writers have been in the international spotlight recently. They have been invited to guest programmes at the world's biggest book fairs: Frankfurt, Paris, Leipzig, Bologna, Beijing, etc. Korea has 22,000 publishers; 35,000 titles are published every year, and publications at a million copies or more are no exception.
For two evenings, BOZAR LITERATURE introduces you to two generations of writers, of both prose and poetry. They tell their country's recent history better than anyone else: the separation of North and South, the Vietnam War, the clash between Christianity and communism, Buddhism and capitalism, the old patriarchy and the sensual, shopping youth.
